Official Rules

Draft — not yet in effect
These Rules are a working draft pending review by sweepstakes counsel, and no promotion is currently open. Figures shown as placeholders are genuinely undecided — we would rather show you a gap than a number we have not committed to.
No purchase necessary
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. A free method of entry is available to everyone and carries the same weight as any entry received with a purchase — see Free Entry.
Eligibility
Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. Residents of the following states are not eligible: excluded states pending · B1.
Employees of SCORCH LLC and their immediate family and household members are not eligible.
How to enter
There are three ways to receive entries, and each entry counts identically:
- Free mail-in entry. Follow the instructions on the Free Entry page. Each valid request receives entries per request pending · A3.
- Account bonus. One-time entries granted when you complete and verify a Scorch account: bonus amount pending · A3.
- Included with a pack purchase. Pack purchases include promotional entries: entries per pack pending · A1. You are buying the cards; the entries are a promotion included with them.
Entries are limited to per-person cap pending · B2 per promotion, regardless of method. Attempts to exceed this limit — including through multiple accounts, addresses, or identities — void all of that person's entries.
Refunds and entries
If an order is refunded before the entry list for a promotion has been finalized, the cards from that order are removed from your collection and the entries it included are withdrawn from that promotion.
Once the entry list has been finalized and its cryptographic hash published, the entries in it are fixed. A refund after that point still returns your money and still removes the cards, but the entries stand for that promotion — withdrawing them would invalidate a published proof that every other entrant is relying on. The full policy is on the Refund Policy page.
Prizes
Prizes and their approximate retail value are stated in the rules for each individual promotion. Total prize value per promotion: total prize value pending · A4.
Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution is permitted except by the Sponsor. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes unless the promotion's rules state otherwise.
Every winner must return a completed IRS Form W-9 and a signed affidavit of eligibility before any prize is released, whatever that prize is worth. This does not depend on the value of the prize, and a small prize is not exempt. A winner who does not return both within the time stated in their notification forfeits the prize, and an alternate winner may be selected.
Separately, we file an IRS Form 1099-MISC when the prizes we pay you within a single calendar year reach the federal reporting threshold for the year the prize is actually paid — which is not always the year the promotion ran, since a promotion closing in December may pay in January. For 2026 that figure is $2,000.00. It is adjusted for inflation and changes from year to year, and it counts everything paid to you across the whole year rather than any single prize. State reporting or withholding may also apply, sometimes at lower amounts than the federal threshold.
How winners are selected
Winners are selected by a random drawing that anyone can independently verify. Before each drawing:
- We publish a cryptographic hash of the complete, final list of entries. This fixes the entry list — it cannot be altered afterwards without the published hash no longer matching.
- We publish, in advance, which future round of the drand public randomness beacon will be used. That number does not exist yet and is produced by an independent public consortium — not by us.
- When that round is published, the winner is derived from it using a published, deterministic method.
Because the entry list is fixed before the random number exists, and the random number is produced by someone else, we cannot influence the outcome. Anyone can repeat the calculation and confirm the result.
Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received across all methods.
Winner notification
Winners are notified using the contact information associated with their entry. Every winner completes an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release, and returns a Form W-9, before a prize is released. If a winner cannot be reached within notification window pending, or is ineligible, an alternate winner may be selected.
What you are buying
