Cards and the collection

What am I buying?

Digital collectible cards in packs, delivered to your Scorch account.

You receive a licence to access and display the digital cards in your Scorch account for as long as Scorch operates the service. You are not acquiring ownership of the underlying artwork or intellectual property, and access is subject to these Terms.

What is a Genesis card?

Genesis is the first Scorch series: 50 base cards across 5 families, plus serial-numbered parallel versions of base cards.

What is the Binder?

Your collection page. It shows every Genesis base card, counts how many of the 50 you have collected, family by family, and keeps parallels on a shelf of their own.

What counts toward Genesis completion?

All 50 base cards, and only those — parallels do not count. Every base card is open edition, so none of the cards the set needs can sell out.

What are parallels and serial-numbered cards?

A parallel is an alternate version of a base card, with its own treatment and a serial number, in a capped edition: Rare, Epic, Legend or Ignition. Ignition parallels come only from Collector Boxes. The Proof page lists each edition size.

Can I sell or transfer cards?

No. Cards cannot be sold, traded, gifted or transferred, and there is no marketplace and no cash-out. Cards have no cash value.

Packs and reveals

What does Preparing mean?

Your pack is delivered to your account once your payment is confirmed — normally within a few seconds, though occasionally it takes longer. Until then it shows in My Packs as Preparing, and nothing about its contents is shown.

What does Ready to reveal mean?

The pack’s cards have been issued to your account and have passed an automated check. You can open it whenever you like.

How does a pack reveal work?

Opening a pack shows the cards that were fixed for it before you opened it. The reveal presents the result; it never decides or changes it.

What are Recipes?

A Recipe exchanges base cards you have for a specific base card you are missing — or, once you have completed the base set, for a cosmetic reward. You see exactly what goes in and what comes out before you confirm, the cards you put in are used up, and the result is never random. Serial-numbered parallels never go into a Recipe, and Recipes never grant giveaway entries or create cash value.

Recipes are part of the Genesis experience and will be available when Genesis opens.

Giveaways

What happens when a giveaway is open?

It is listed on the Giveaways page with the date its entries close and a link to its Official Rules, which set out who can take part, how to enter and how winners are drawn.

Can I take part in a giveaway without buying anything?

Yes. Every giveaway has a free way to enter, set out in its Official Rules.

Where can I see the Official Rules?

On the Official Rules page, linked from the footer of every page. The Official Rules for each giveaway are published before it opens.

Proof and support

How do I check Scorch's proof?

Every pack you open has a Pack details page showing its contents commitment, the configuration version it was drawn under and the public randomness round it used. Today those records can be checked against Scorch’s own records, not yet by an outside party. The Proof & Transparency page says exactly what is published and what is not.

How do I contact support?
